Funeral services for Henry “Hank” Otto Taylor Jr., age 72, will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at the United Methodist Church in Hay Springs, NE with Pastor Paul Smith officiating.

Burial will be at the Hay Springs City Cemetery.

Hank, loving father of eight children, passed away on October 4, 2019 at his home.

Hank was born on March 18, 1947 in Hay Springs, NE to Henry and Goldie (Reeves) Taylor. He was the only son of seven children. He attended Hay Springs Public Schools, graduating in 1965. Hank enjoyed working around Hay Springs with his father as a mechanic and logger until he joined the Army National Guard in 1967. On January 28, 1970, Henry married Jann Wood and welcomed daughters Michelle, Gail, and Holly. On March 15, 1975, Hank married Margaret Johnson and welcomed sons Brian, Aaron, and Nathan along with daughters Amanda and Angela.

Hank had a passion for mechanics, fishing, and family. He combined those passions by teaching his family mechanics as well as spending time with them fishing. One of his greatest prides was watching his children and grandchildren grow. Hank started his mechanic career early, working with his dad at the family repair shop located just north of Hay Springs. He will be remembered as a man who could fix almost anything. Hank retired from the Sheridan County Road Department in 2013 after 32 years of employment. Hank had an amazing sense of humor and was always willing to stop what he was doing to help a friend.

Hank was preceded in death by father Henry; mother Goldie; sisters Bonnie, Virginia, and Sarah; children Michelle (Mark) Keszler of Bridgeport, NE, Gail (Willis) Beyer of Bridgeport, NE, Holly (Marcus) Widener of Bridgeport, NE, Brian (Sara) Taylor of Chadron, NE, Amanda (Mark) Haller of Rushville, NE, Angela (Lonnie) Olsen of Black Hawk, SD, Aaron (Kayley) Taylor of Hay Springs, NE, Nathan (Sunny) Taylor of Anna, TX; sisters Elizabeth, Judy, and Mary; several cousins; 25 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
