Funeral services for 21-year old Santana Amanda Steele (Close To Me Woman) will be Wed, Oct 23, at 10:00 am at St Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Rapid City, SD, with Father Henrique Flemming officiating.

Graveside services will be later that morning at 11:30 at the Pine Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Rapid City.

A one night wake service will be held Tuesday, Oct 22, at 5:00 pm, also at St. Matthew’s Episcopal in Rapid City, SD with evening services starting at 7:00 PM

Santana Amanda Steele was born on June 26, 1998 in Rapid City, SD to Chester Vincent Steele and Laura Heminger.  Santana made her journey to the Spirit World on October 15, 2019 in Sioux Falls, SD.

Santana is survived by her mother, Laura Heminger of Sioux Falls, SD; father, Chester Vincent Steele of Rapid City, SD; sisters, Kayla Steele and Jessica Steele both of Sioux Falls, SD; brother, CJ Steele of Sioux Falls, SD; niece, Isabella Fly of Fort Thompson, SD; nephews, Josiah Fly of Fort Thompson, SD and Elijah Steele of Rapid City, SD; grandparents, Ruth Red Elk of Rockyford, SD, Patricia LeBeau and Chester “Chet” Steele both of Rockyford, SD; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Santana was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Terry Heminger-Jumping Elk and Louis Jumping Elk; great grandparents, George Red Elk, Louise Red Elk, Cecelia White, and Bernice DeCory; aunt, Jennifer Steele; and cousin Jarrod Red Leaf.

Pallbearers will be Mitchell Brewer, Daniel Gray Eagle, Jr., Nathaniel Gray Eagle, Randy Leanhart, Myra DeCory, and Nathaniel Jumping Elk.
