11/07/2019 - Lucille Alma McGannon

Services will be held at a later date for 100-year old Lucille Alma McGannon of Chadron.

Lucille was born Dec 12, 1918, in Oelrichs and passed away Monday, October 25, 2019.

Lucille lived in Oelrichs until she left for college at the age of 16, attending Duchene College in Omaha for one year before finished her teaching degree at Chadron State College.

She then taught for 9 years in SD before moving to Chadron to live on the McGannon ranch with her husband Arthur, who had just returned from the war. 

Lucille loved living in the “country”, was a devout Catholic, and loved sharing her time and talents with her church family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur (Yot), son Martin, grandson Matthew, brother Gene and parents. 

Survivors include her son James, daughters Patricia (McCulloch), Mary (Gasper) and Elizabeth (Borges), 12 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Bates Gould Funeral Home in Alliance is in charge of arrangements for Lucille Alma McGannon.
