Funeral services for 48-year old Alan Sheldon Waters Sr will be Saturday, Nov 23 at 11:00 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD, with Reverend Rhoda Mesteth officiating and traditional Lakota services by Mr Quincy Red Feather

Graveside services will be at the Tobacco Family Cemetery, Calico Community, Pine Ridge, SD

A two-night wake service starts Thursday, November 21 at 1:00 pm at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with evening prayers starting at 7 PM.

Alan Sheldon Waters, Sr. was born on April 5, 1971 in Pine Ridge, SD to Joseph “Kadoke” Waters and Dorothy (Ten Fingers) Waters. Alan made his journey to the Spirit World on November 12, 2019 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD.

Alan, Sr. is survived by his sons, Michael Waters, Alan Waters, Jr. and Terrence Waters, all of Pine Ridge, SD; daughters, Lindsay Tobacco of Denver, CO, Raquel Waters and Jenna Tobacco-Waters, both of Pine Ridge, SD; sisters, Wanda Waters of Rosebud, SD, Harriett Twiss of Porcupine, SD, Sherol Waters of Rapid City, SD, Violet Waters of Pine Ridge, SD, Pasquerita Ten Fingers of Rapid City, SD and Francey Weasel Bear of Slimbuttes, SD; brothers, Charlie Waters, Sr. and John Waters, both of Pine Ridge, SD, Levi Two Dogs, Jr. of Denver, CO and Allen Ray Waters of Tracy, CA; grandchildren, Bailey Waters, Carter Waters and Lisa Marie Waters, all of Pine Ridge, SD; uncles, Albert Waters of Pine Ridge, SD and Ted Ten Fingers of Rapid City, SD; aunts, Victoria Waters and Gloria Yellow Boy, both of Pine Ridge, SD; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Alan, Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Dorothy (Ten Fingers) Waters; spouse, Lisa Marie Tobacco; grandparents, Paul Waters, Rose Red Feather, Leroy Ten Fingers and Mercy Pipe On Head; sisters, JoAnn Two Dogs, Juanita Two Dogs and Veda Waters; brother, Leroy “Big John” Two Dogs.

Pallbearers will be: Ernie Waters, Jr., Charlie Waters, Jr., Stanley Jennessee, LeRoy Standing Bear, Gene Salazar, Tad Clarke, David Jason Two Bulls, Chad Tobacco, Bobby Twiss and Chris Two Dogs.
