Funeral services for 75-year old David Phillip Budsy Brings Plenty are Tuesday Nov 26, 2019 at 10:00 AM at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD, with Pastors Eric Sutton, Leon Schwartz, and Dennis Carlane officiating.

Graveside services will be at the Brings Plenty Family Cemetery in Oglala

A two-night wake service starts Sunday, Nov 24, 2019 at 2:30 PM at Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with evening services starting at 7:00 PM

David Phillip Budsy Brings Plenty was born on July 14, 1944 in Pine Ridge, SD to Phillip John Brings Plenty and Sophia Elizabeth (Smith) Brings Plenty.  David made his journey to the Spirit World on November 15, 2019 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD.

David was a well-respected advocate for the youth through sports and traditional Lakota customs. He was the President of the Sacred 500 Hoop Run, a cross country coach, a basketball coach and he also helped with the powwow Dance Club. He loved to teach future generations about the Lakota culture to ensure that the values are carried on throughout their lives. David worked for the Red Cloud High School for 32 years and he also worked at Pine Ridge High School for 2 years. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

David is survived by his children, Mike Brings Plenty, Sr., Hope Dawn Brings Plenty of Rapid City, SD and Kina Brings Plenty of Oglala, SD; brothers, Enoch Brings Plenty of Eagle Butte, SD and Leonard Brings Plenty of Porcupine, SD; grandchildren, Daniel Two Bulls, Jr., Jeremiah Two Bulls, Sr., Marky Two Bulls, Mike Brings Plenty, Jr., Charlie Janis, Hunter Pipe On Head, Bobbi Jo, and Christina Janis; great grandchildren, Jeremiah Two Bulls, Jr., Trenton Two Bulls, Stephanie Patricia Grace Two Bulls, and Jeremy Brings Plenty; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Phillip and Sophia Brings Plenty; spouse, Patricia Mae Brings Plenty; daughter, Stephanie Lee Brings Plenty-Two Bulls; son, David Brings Plenty, Jr.; brothers, Leo Brings Plenty, Vincent Brings Plenty, and Joe Brings Plenty; sisters, Ollie Brings Plenty and Madeline Brings Plenty; and granddaughter, Alicia Janis.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Brown Eyes, Louie Brings Plenty, Charlie Janis, Jeremiah Two Bulls, Daniel Two Bulls, Jr., Mark Two Bulls, Kina Brings Plenty, Mr. Big Brings Plenty, Ivan Tobacco, Sam Long, Tony Vocu, Michael Janis, Moses Brings Plenty, Joe Brings Plenty, Sr., Duane Brings Plenty, Lynn Cross Dog, Daniel Two Bulls, Sr., Sage Brings Plenty, Kiley Brings Plenty, DeMarcus Brings Plenty, and Mike Brings Plenty, Jr.
