Funeral services for 91-year old Edith Opal Twiss (Jealous Woman) will be Monday, Dec 23, at noon at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Hall in Pine Ridge, SD, with Fr. Brad Held, S.J., officiating and traditional Lakota services led by Mr Charles Red Cloud

Burial Services will be at Holy Cross Episcopal Cemetery in Pine Ridge

Visitation will precede the funeral Monday from 9:30-noon at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Hall in Pine Ridge

Edith Opal Twiss "Waa'nawize Win" ~ Jealous Woman was born at home in the Calico community near Pine Ridge, SD on June 4,1928 to William Twiss and Susan (Tobacco) Twiss. Edith made her journey to the Spirit World on December 15, 2019 at the Oglala Sioux Lakota Nursing Home near Whiteclay, NE.

Edith is survived by her nephews, Guy Red Cloud, Paul Red Cloud and Marty Red Cloud Sr, and great nieces, Brenda Perez-Brewer, Oma Perez, Amy Wilson and Susan Red Cloud, all of Pine Ridge, SD.

Edith was preceded in death by her parents, William and Susan (Tobacco) Twiss; siblings, Ellen “Helena” Twiss-Red Cloud, Ethelbert Twiss, Willis Paul Twiss; brother-in-law, Oliver Red Cloud; and paternal grandmother, Sallie Twiss; and maternal grandparents, Adam and Millie (Bissonette) Tobacco.

Pallbearers will be: Brad Conroy, Joseph Brewer, Roman White Calf, Marty Red Cloud, Jr., Levi Red Cloud and Corey Twiss.

Honorary Pallbearers will be: Rodney “Odie” Janis, her cousin, Mary White, Tobacco Family, Red Cloud Family, Oglala Sioux Lakota Nursing Home Staff; Residents and All Friends and Relatives.
