07/16/2020 - Marilyn Moeller

Funeral services for 89-year old Marilyn Moeller of Chadron, NE, will be Thursday, July 16, at 10:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Chadron.  The service will be streamed live over the church Facebook account

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 15, from 7:00-8:00 PM at Chamberlain Chapel in Chadron.

A committal service will be held Friday, July 17, at 10:30 AM CT at West Lawn Cemetery in Grand Island, NE.

A memorial has been established. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, PO Box 970, Chadron NE, 69337.

Marilyn J. Moeller was born on September 27, 1930 in Grand Island the daughter of Neil and Donna (Hatfield) Pinkston, and died on July 10, 2020 at Crestview Care Center in Chadron. 

Marilyn graduated from Grand Island Senior High with the class of 1948 and after high school worked as a telephone operator. She married Otto W Moeller Jr on December 14, 1952, in a ceremony at Trinity Lutheran Church in Grand Island. 

After marriage, she continued to work as a telephone operator until Otto transferred with the telephone company to Chadron.  After the untimely death of Otto on September 28, 1980, Marilyn began work as the church secretary at First Baptist Church in Chadron. After 34 years of dedicated service to the Church, she retired in 2014.

Marilyn was a long-time member of Chadron First Baptist Church.  She enjoyed bible studies and work with the Chadron Christian Women’s Club.  She enjoyed working with crafts and also ventured into selling Avon products.  But most importantly she loved her Lord and family very much.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, Neil and Donna Pinkston, sister Margaret Rickert, Husband Otto W Moeller Jr, and daughter and son-in-law Donna and Todd Ray.

Survivors include daughter Christi Winter of Omaha, NE, daughter and son-in-law Diana and John Blaylock of Norfolk, NE, grandchildren Jimmy Winter and fiancée Andrea Meinders of Houston TX, Jill Blaylock of Norfolk, NE, Jessie Winter and Del Goedeken of Omaha NE, Matthew Ray and friend Samantha Torado of Kona HI, and Adam Blaylock and fiancée Kelsey Vesley of Fort Wayne, IN.

Surviving extended family include her sister Jan Metcalf of Austin TX, brother-in-law Harold Endorf of Fairbury, NE and a number of nieces and nephews.

Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron is in charge of arrangements.
