08/24/2020 - Sandra Yellowbird

Funeral services will be held at a later date for 63-year old Sandra Yellowbird of San Antonio, Texas.

Sandy was born on April 21, 1957, to Charles and Sara Steele in Alliance, NE, and passed away on August 12, 2020.

Sandy had three handsome sons - Kennedy McDow, July 1, 1981, Jason McDow, October 5, 1982 and Corey Fisher, August 27, 1991 - and loved her boys more than life itself and always strived to be the best mother she could be!

Sandy worked in Rapid City, SD, driving buses for the disabled and loved her line of work.  Her job was extremely meaningful to the community and the individuals she helped and aided daily.  Sandy attended college at Black Hills State University.

Sandy was always willing to help everyone and be kind to anyone she met.  She had a heart of gold and was a genuine soul.

She spent the last 2 ½ years of her life living with her youngest son and his wife in San Antonio, Texas. She loved playing with her grandchildren (the first thing she would do every morning was check on them), loving on the dogs, watching Impractical Jokers, sitting outside star gazing, and listening to her old school radio.

Sandy always had such a wonderful sense of humor and loved to laugh and joke with everyone. She had a few favorite catch phrases: Laughing… followed by "I know, right," "Are you serious," and "Get me a beer!".

Sandy lived life to the fullest and how she wanted to live. She was happy, loved, and blessed to know so many amazing friends and people who cared about her. She will be missed terribly!

Sandy is survived by her brother, Charles Steele of Gallup, New Mexico; her children, Kennedy McDow of Rapid City, South Dakota, Jason McDow of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and Corey Fisher and his wife Kristina Fisher of San Antonio, Texas; her grandchildren, Zailynn (ZARM) McDow, Marcus McDow, Damar McDow, Dante McDow, Maliyah McDow, Amaliyah McDow, Paisley Fisher and Peyton Fisher; and her great-grandchild; KayLeanuh McDow.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Sara Steele; and siblings: Faye Yellowbird-Waston, Mary Yellowbird Steele-Exendine, Marilyn Ruth Yellowbird-Steele, Lynda Yellowbird-Steele, Myla Steele, Dennis Yellowbird-Steele, Robert Yellowbird-Steele, Richard Yellowbird-Steele and Cleo Rae Herrera.
