01/07/2008 - Elsie Anna (Rath-Kline) Griffin

     Elsie Anna (Rath-Kline) Griffin, age 88, passed away December 29, 2007, at Crest View Care Center in Chadron.

     Elsie was born to Henry and Anna (Waterhouse) Rath in Dalton, NE, on Feb. 19, 1919.

     She married Richard Kline in 1934, he preceded her in death in 1950.  To this union there were 4 children, Dorothy, Betty, Ronald, and Virginia.

     Elsie married Thomas Griffin in 1963; he also preceded her in death in 1976.  Along with her two husbands, she was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Carl Rath and Henry Rath and wife Amy Rath.  Two sisters, Lucille Rath and Marjorie Rath; a daughter Dorothy Kline and a son Ronald Kline; three nieces Anna Marie Rath, Amy Jo Rath, and Edith Ann Dutton; and one nephew Leo Wayne Rath.

     Elsie is survived by two daughters:  Betty (Dennis) Lakotos of Muskegon, MI and Virginia (Ginger) (Dennis) Petersen of Rushville, NE; one sister-in-law, Opal Rath.  Five grandchildren:  Dianna (Alan) Varin of Wentzville, MO; Michele Lakatos of Muskegon, MI; Mark (Bobbi) Lakatos of Muskegon, MI;  Kathy (Steve) Weber of Chadron, NE; and Dela (Chris) DeSersa of Rushville, NE.  Twelve great-grandchildren:  Mathew, Lauren, and Megan Varin; Dava, Coy, Vaughn, and Zeta Lakatos; Luke Retzlaff; Leah and Sara Weber; Amaya and Samuel DeSersa; nine nephews and three nieces.

According to her wishes no services will be held.
