Funeral Services for Jean Scheopner, age 84, of Chadron will be Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church with Father Ed Cortney officiating. Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Chadron. A memorial has been established for St. Patrick’s Church, Chadron State College, Chadron Rescue Unit. Donations may be sent to Chamberlain Chapel, P.O. Box 970, Chadron, NE 69337.
Jean was born December 9, 1923 to William T. and Dolores C. (Wilson) Wickwar in Goodland, KS.
Jean married William G. Scheopener on October 30, 1950 in Goodland, KS. Together they farmed in western Kansas. In 1956 they purchased the Stratton Livestock Auction in Stratton, CO. In 1969 they bought a ranch north of Chadron. In 1980 they formed a partnership with Rob and Colleen Harvey and Doug and Janice Strotheide and purchased the Crawford Livestock Market. Bill passed away November 23, 1991.

Sons- Bruce and Tammie Scheopner of Chadron, NE. Daughters- Kris and Rick Koza of Chadron, NE; Connie and Al Rasmussen of Chadron, NE; Lynn Hardman and fiancé Randy Mathis of Chadron, NE. Grandchildren- 5
Great Grandchildren- 2 Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron is in charge of arrangements.
