Memorial Services for Richard Lee Alcorn, age 56, of Atlanta, GA, formerly of Mirage Flats will be Friday, April 18, 2008 at 10:00 AM at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Mirage Flats. Full Military Rites will be Monday, April 21, 2008 at 9:30 AM at the Air Force Academy Chapel in Colorado Springs, CO. Memorial gifts may be sent to Security First Bank, P.O. Richard Lee Alcorn was born January 17, 1952 at Rushville, Nebraska to Russell Lynn and Donna Jean (Kuskie) Alcorn. He grew up in Mirage Flats and graduated from Hay Springs High School in May 1970. He attended the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, CO, graduating in 1974. He married Diane Fields in 1974. To this union two daughters were born.

Richard received his Master’s Degree in Chemistry from Michigan State University in Lansing, Michigan and PhD in Chemistry from Arizona State University. He retired from the Air Force in 1994 at the rank of Lt. Colonel. He then moved to Atlanta, GA and was employed by Atlantic Southeast Airlines as a pilot.
