04/17/2008 - Phyllis M. Pettie

A Prayer Service for Phyllis M. Pettie of Chadron, Nebraska will be held Thursday April 17, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Chadron, with Pastor Brad Daniels officiating.

     Burial will be in the family cemetery at Enemy Swim, South Dakota.

     Mrs. Pettie died Tuesday April 15, 2008 at the Chadron Community Hospital, she was 69.

     Her survivors include sisters Ruth Owens of Grenville, South Dakota; and Mary Keeble Huxbhodt of Grenville, South Dakota.  Also brother Pete Owens of Chadron, sons Kenneth M. Pettie and wife Linda of Fargo, North Dakota; Keith A. Pettie and wife Kirsten of Fargo; and John R. DuMarce and wife Donna of Fargo.  Also daughter LuAnn Pettie-Werdel and husband Ron of Chadron.  Also seven grandchildren, two nephews, and numerous cousins, aunts, uncles, and special friends Mike and Bev Bartlett of Chadron.

     Mrs. Pettie was born July 23, 1939 in Sisseton, South Dakota to Benjamin R. and Adelle Owens.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Orville Owens and Ralph Kebble, and sister Audrey Owens.

     Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain Chapel of Chadron and Chilson Funeral Home, in Sisseton, South Dakota.
